About The Junction
A few years ago The Junction gained a reputation as an ‘up and coming’ neighbourhood where you could still find a steal of a freehold. Those days are long gone, and this west Toronto area has skyrocketed into the nuevo-cool locale for families, with a serous sense of community pride.
Take a stroll on a sunny Sunday afternoon and you’ll see young families in and out of brunch spots, parks, farmers markets and gelato shops. It’s main retail street Dundas West has transformed into a serious hub, and has some of the best furniture spots in the city.
Historically this location was, as its moniker indicates, where a number of rail paths converged. In fact the village was not even considered part of the city of Toronto! Over the years, The Junction became known as a working class area, famous for its prohibition of alcohol that was only overturned in the year 2000—you couldn’t get a liquor license in the neighbourhood before then! Needless to say the overturning of that odd little rule led to thirsty patrons flocking to exciting new businesses.

What's Great About It?
Family-friendly neighbours and houses on tree-lined streets. You won’t get a house for what you could a few years ago, but for those on a budget this is still an affordable area on the up. Add in lots of great local schools, and an increasing number of community resources, and you’ve got a great spot to raise kids.
